In recent years, efforts by the Film Chamber and producers have significantly curbed piracy. However, the issue has resurfaced in the past few months, particularly affecting Dil Raju’s Game Changer, according to producer Allu Aravind.
To combat the problem, a dedicated cyber cell was established and is actively addressing piracy concerns. A recent case involved the unauthorized screening of Game Changer on an RTC bus. A formal complaint has been lodged, and strict legal action is underway. Aravind urged the public to refrain from sharing pirated content, emphasizing that piracy is a criminal offense.
Addressing the controversy surrounding his previous remarks on Ram Charan’s Game Changer, Allu Aravind clarified that his comments were misinterpreted. He explained that his words were directed at the challenges faced by Dil Raju during the IT raids, not at Ram Charan himself. “There was no malice intended. Ram Charan is my nephew, and our bond remains strong. Let’s move on from this,” he stated.
Producer Bunny Vasu highlighted the industry’s proactive steps, stating that the Film Chamber’s cyber cell, along with OTT platforms, has played a crucial role in curbing piracy. Despite these efforts, piracy has seen a resurgence in the last two months. “It’s disheartening that Thandel was leaked online while we were celebrating its success,” he lamented.
He further mentioned that piracy issues were initially encountered during Pawan Kalyan’s Atharintiki Daaredi, prompting plans to seek the actor’s support in addressing the ongoing threat.
Additionally, Vasu warned cable operators that any involvement in piracy-related activities would lead to legal consequences.
The producers confirmed that they traced a recent leak to an overseas copy, reinforcing their commitment to tackling piracy aggressively.
