In a shocking turn of events, Aarushi Nishank, the daughter of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, has fallen victim to a fraudulent film investment scheme, resulting in a loss of approximately Rs 4 crore.

The incident unfolded when Aarushi was approached with an enticing offer to invest Rs 5 crore in a purported film project. She was promised a role in the movie, along with the assurance of receiving triple her investment once the film was completed. Further, the accused guaranteed that the investment would generate substantial returns for her company, potentially reaching Rs 15 crore. Additionally, they promised that Aarushi would have a say in finalizing the script, and if she was dissatisfied with the role, her money would be refunded with 15% annual interest.

However, after parting with Rs 4 crore, Aarushi discovered that neither the promised role materialized nor was her investment returned. After a prolonged period of no progress, she realized that she had been duped and subsequently filed a complaint with the Kotwali police station in Dehradun. The police have registered a case against the accused individuals, Manasi Varun and Varun Pramod, both residents of Mumbai, and have launched an investigation into the matter.

Reports indicate that the accused filmmakers went as far as circulating fraudulent photographs of the supposed film crew on the official Mini Films Pvt Ltd social media page, even removing Aarushi’s image to perpetuate their deception. When Aarushi requested a refund, the perpetrators allegedly resorted to threats of violence and defamation, as per her complaint.

This alarming case highlights the growing concerns surrounding cyber frauds and digital crimes. The fact that a VVIP and the daughter of a former Chief Minister has been targeted serves as a stark reminder of the need for vigilance and caution in the face of increasingly sophisticated scams. Authorities are continuing their investigation to bring the accused to justice and prevent further incidents of this nature.
